I am happy because I can learn many things with my friends in the Asia West Pacific Friend Peace Team. I feel that equality between humans is very beautiful and it has affected my life journey here. I feel that this work not only proclaims peace for all people but also develops the resources of those who do it.
Connect and support each other regardless of age, ethnicity, race, religion, education or other background. Peace is real, we can make it happen starting with ourselves.
One approach that sticks out to me is that everyone is good and capable. This helps me to respect everyone without exception. Right now I really feel the difference in myself about the perspective of other people with all their being. I am grateful for being able to train all of this and continue to connect with the community and form the Onomi Imea team in Papua. As a coordinator, I also practice with my friends in meetings and team building. We are all growing together.
Currently, I am more skilled at using computers. Creative in compiling activity agendas according to what is needed in my work area. I train to use my time in a more organized way during the day. Timesheet helps me not to procrastinate and waste time.
When asked to write a news article , I was confused about how to start. Currently getting more and more able to write. Indonesian and English language skills are also continuously trained here. There is a great inward power to act and it must be practiced.
Thanks to my Mentor Petrus and Nanik who trained me from the start to join as a peace workers partner. I feel more developed and skilled. Focus on learning because learning is lifelong.
I am inspired and learn from friends’ experiences, through monthly meetings and mentoring. Thanks to Kins, Nadine, all friends who fight for peace and support Papua.
My hope is, friends can come to conduct training in Papua after we have a permanent residence which is still in struggle. At the moment I continue to practice and enjoy it. I believe there is a great inner power to act.
