I participated in several training and workshops of AVP. There were even several times when I facilitated, but in the back of my mind, Peace and Justice always felt like big, abstract concepts. I used to think that these ideals could only be achieved through the efforts of peacemakers and politicians resolving conflicts on a large scale. They seemed distant and unattainable to me.

However, after undergoing the Regional Justice and Peace Training 2024 (RJPT) and living with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and religions for almost a month, my perspective changed. By consciously practicing tools like Stopping, Communication, and Empathy, I now understand that peace and justice are practical, everyday pursuits, not just abstract ideas. I have realized that peace is attainable and requires individual effort and commitment.

I’ve come to understand that peace must start within oneself. By fostering peace within myself, I can contribute to a more peaceful and just world. This includes addressing my inner conflicts, practicing forgiveness, and promoting understanding in my interactions. I am convinced that it’s about making conscious decisions to act with integrity and fairness in daily life.

I firmly believe that if each person takes responsibility for cultivating peace and justice within themselves, these values can collectively transform our world. It’s a powerful notion that change starts at the individual level. This personal journey toward peace and justice is not only possible but essential.

I am challenged to consciously pursue peace and justice here and now, starting with myself. By embracing this responsibility, I hope to inspire others to do the same, creating a ripple effect that may lead to a more harmonious and just world.
Thank you so much to Friends Peace Teams and Kins Aparece for the opportunity to participate in the Regional Justice and Peace Training 2024 at Peace Place Pati, Indonesia.
