I am Sita Maya Thing Lama, a 43-year-old woman residing in Kathmandu with my husband and two daughters. Originally hailing from a small village in Makwanpur, I belong to a marginalized ethnic community. With over 18 years of experience in the field, I am currently dedicated to providing psychotherapy and mental health services and serving as an AVP Facilitator.

My daily routine commences with a brief meditation and expressions of gratitude. I tend to household rituals, ensure a serene environment, and prepare breakfast for my family. Thereafter, my focus shifts to counseling sessions with clients, alongside community mental health training on select days. During leisure times, I indulge in travel, immersing myself in diverse cultures.

As an Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) practitioner, I embrace the concept of the Transforming Power mandala. I advocate for open communication, active listening, and respect for differing viewpoints, emphasizing dialogue and conflict resolution anchored in mutual respect and fairness. Additionally, I strive to raise awareness about mental health, social justice, and equality, empowering community members to champion positive change.
