Junis Jolly from Intan Jaya one of conflict area makes friends with a Navy Soldier.

Since September 2021, my husband and I have been training regularly with children at the Holei Roo Orphanage, Sentani, Papua through a two-hour Power of Goodness activity.
In our opinion, there is no end to learning, practicing and changing, while still on earth. These three things require persistence from each person.

The Power of Goodness sessions have been quite beneficial for both us personally and the children of the Holei Roo Orphanage. We see and feel that their behaviors and attitudes have begun to change through learning to reduce violence against themselves, others and nature. These slight changes are enough to make us feel relieved.

Naomi, a girl from Membramo, Jayapura, started attending a two-hour Power of Goodness session at the Holei Roo Orphanage. She lives in an orphanage because her parents are so poor that she can’t even go to school. In the beginning, Naomi was very quiet but she enjoys joining the weekly Power of Goodness activities. After several meetings, we saw progress. She began to speak more and was very excited.

A boy who asked not to be named, experienced a change in attitude after participating in the Power of Goodness session. Before he was still taking friends’ things without permission, but now he doesn’t do it anymore.

Some of the children who were victims of the armed conflict in Papua began to make friends with those from different ethnic groups. Previously they had been enemies because of the trauma of war. Petrus Peduli from Intan Jaya, a victim of armed conflict, said, “All are friends.” He had had a big trauma when he first lived in a nursing home. He reacts badly when he sees drones, but now he is no longer afraid to see the police and soldiers.

The Power of Goodness stories have values that are easy to apply in life. This is the power of a true story. And everyone has that Transforming Power. Thank you to all the Power of Goodness story writers.
