Coordinator, Java PoG Team

Facilitating PoG at Batangan School, Pati

Hi friends, nice to meet you. My name is Wiji Prasetya Jati, usually called Wiwit. I live in Pati, a small town on the island of Java and studied there until junior high school. Then I went to the Music High School (SMM) in Jogjakarta to major in guitar. I majored in Psychology at the Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) in the City of Salatiga and graduated in 2021.
The first time I got to know AVP in Indonesia was between 2012-2013 when I was still at school and I was introduced by my parents (Petrus and Nanik). The first time I attended the AVP training in 2013 I felt that I was the youngest in the training and at that time I listened more often and spoke less because I lacked confidence. As time went on, I always regularly took part in local and international Alternatives to Violence Project-Creating Cultures of Peace (AVP/CCP) training activities. The tools have really helped me develop as a full human being -personally and socially. Now I am training to become a facilitator with friends in Indonesia who are both developing this training. Apart from this, I also facilitate Power of Goodness (PoG) events with the team.
Another activity that I do is to accompany the l children at Joglo Preschool. This is an inclusion school so I embrace learning how to nurture children with special needs. In Joglo, I get to sing with the children while I play the guitar.
Being with the children challenges me to keep growing. I also need other friends and family to support me so I can continue to develop what I am doing and what I will do. Apart from that, I feel the need to continue my studies at Master’s Degree to further emphasize and strengthen the development of Joglo training and Early Childhood Education because to develop this requires knowing how human development works.
Thank you very much to peace friends all over the world who have supported me and I always hope to stay connected and develop this method of peace together in the world. Peace is real and every human being has the right to feel the peace that exists in this world.

Greetings from Wiwit.
