My name is Illi Apriliyadi Sanheinizh, nicknamed Wilson. I am a master of communication science student at Diponegoro University and an herbal drink enthusiast. After attending CCP training in early March 2022, I was impressed with Peace Place Pati, where various herbal plants such as ginger, turmeric, temulawak, lemongrass, lime and other efficacious plants grow. I got the idea to do a training in making herbal drinks at Peace Place Pati with ingredients taken from the garden there and some purchased in traditional markets. The training aims to increase awareness of the efficacy of herbal plants that can be used to strengthen immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic.

From the ingredients ginger (jahe), turmeric, temulawak, kencur, lemongrass (serai), lime (jeruk nipis), orange (jeruk) leaves, and brown sugar a variety of herbal drinks such as

Testimony of participants:

Nanik Nuansa: It’s nice to be able to make our own herbal drinks, and know more about the function of herbal plants to maintain immunity. I can now introduce it to friends or guests who visit and make this herbal drink when there is a meeting. Thank you for sharing.

Wiwit Waseso: I am very happy with the training in making herbal drinks because I know how to make and can consume it myself. My body feels fresh and lighter.

Nia Nice: This is very suitable to learn in the pandemic situation. The participants include the elderly and also young children. It is cool to be able to introduce the names of herbal plants to young people and it turns out that making herbal drinks is also not as difficult as imagined, and the ingredients are easy to get and affordable. And most important are the benefits of herbal drinks to our health and well-being.

Giyarto Gigih: Herbal drinks can be important during this pandemic. In my opinion, this training is very helpful in boosting immunity as a form of self-defense in fighting the coronavirus.

Petrus Perkasa: Peace Place is the first place this training was held. The process is simple and the material is easily available around Peace Place and in traditional markets. The drinks taste fresh and delicious. Now, after training, I often make herbal drinks, especially the ginger, sere, lime, and brown sugar. I make that one to warm up my body and enjoy the fresh taste.

Emmawati: It’s nice to know how to make my own herbal drinks, and I know more about the function of herbal plants to maintain immunity.
Gratia: At first I was afraid to drink herbs because as far as I knew, they were only for the elderly. After participating in this training, I dared to drink herbal drinks, and now enjoy the taste.

We hope that the training will be able to improve people’s skills and knowledge about processing herbal plants. This training has the potential to be carried out with others in the local area.
